Guide for Use
An unnecessary surgical or invasive procedure is harm – the additional surgical site will require monitoring to avoid infection.
Examples:
An unnecessary trigger finger release when a carpal tunnel surgery is intended is harm – it will have a separate incision site.
A chest tube inserted on the wrong side that has to be removed and sutured is harm.
