Event location (ASC)
Description
Determination of where the event occurred or where the unsafe condition existed.
Select the answer that best describes the location of the event as specifically as possible. For locations that fall under two categories (such as a bathroom in a preop area), choose the more specific location (in the case of the example, the bathroom).

Additional Support
When an event such as a deep vein thrombosis or infection is discovered post-discharge at the patient’s home, select the location where you believe the event started (e.g., operating room, PACU).
